What is green island bridge?

Green Island Bridge is a steel truss bridge that spans the Hudson River between Troy and Green Island in upstate New York. The bridge was built in 1914 and is 1,474 feet long. It was designed by engineer Ralph Modjeski and built by the American Bridge Company. The bridge has two lanes for vehicular traffic and sidewalks for pedestrians and cyclists. In 2016, the bridge underwent a $26 million renovation to repair and strengthen the structure, improve safety features, and add decorative lighting. The Green Island Bridge is a major transportation artery in the region, connecting many communities and businesses across the Hudson River.
